What does taking an integrated cognitive approach mean?
I use a combination of cognitive and behavioural approaches utilising Hypno-CBT, NLP Coaching, and applied psychology frameworks.
Identify the ‘Real’ Challenge and Focus on the Outcome You Want to Achieve.
Thoughts, emotions and actions are integrated rather than divided. A presenting issue may need to be unpicked to confirm what is really at the heart of the matter and sometimes the results can be surprising. In understanding we can consider the goal and focus on the positive changes.
Find the Key to Unlock Your Thoughts, Feelings, and Behaviours
We’ll align the approach to your unique goal and circumstances, to give you the tools and techniques which set you up for long lasting therapeutic change.
Identify Maintaining Factors
We look at why some aspects of the past are still having an impact on your life today. Identifying what are the maintaining factors that need to change? It’s important to acknowledge we can’t go back in time to make changes. The present is the only place you have control – choosing the right action in the present moment
Reprogramme and Reset
Your mind runs learnt programmes on repeat until you update/upgrade/re-install the software. Create an alternative imagined response to overwrite/override the emotional/actions/thoughts – repackage up and put in unconscious mind to be called on when needed – thoughts, feelings, actions, motivations, attitudes and expectations.
Evidence Based Outcomes
Evidence-based approaches lead to evidence based outcomes. Throughout our time together we review the impact being made, we want to ensure the tools and techniques are constructive and putting you on the path of success.
Build Self-Efficacy
Words like empower and enable are used a lot in the mindset world. Whatever your challenge or goal we work to develop within you the tools, techniques, and reset needed to become your own therapist. As much as I love working with people this isn’t an infinite experience, your self-sufficiency is what we’re aiming for.
How We Engage
Sessions
Sessions can be face-to-face or online, both have benefits, we talk logistics as part of the intro call.
Introductory Call
I offer a no obligation confidential introductory call – we’ll schedule 20 - 30 mins, let’s chat and confirm that we want to work together.
What To Expect
Working Together
This is a collaborative approach, understanding what we’re doing and why.
If you put what you’re learning into practice between sessions it will accelerate realising results.
Feedback is critical – it is two way. There’s no expectation to say what you think I want to hear, if something isn’t working for you I need to know so we can openly discuss.
The ultimate goal is for you to have the skills to become your own therapist.
